Shady Creek Nouveau is a Dry Red wine produced from Michigan grapes. The wine is made from Marechal Foch grapes, a hybrid varietal known for growing well in the Midwest. Marechal Foch is a unique grape which has red juice cells, meaning the wine carries an inky red tint without skin and stem contact during fermentation. Our interpretation of Marechal Foch is Nouveau style, meaning the wine is produced in a similar fashion to a white wine. The wine undergoes only one fermentation and was released shortly after bottling without barrel aging. This style generates a crisp acidity, bolsters the fresh red fruit characteristics, and means the wine is best served chilled.
